Fall Planning Meeting-August 9th!!!
Monday, August 9, 2010 at 6pm on the patio at Mariah's
Please try to eat dinner at Mariah's if you can because they're not charging us to have the patio to ourselves.
Attached is the agenda for the meeting. Please review and come prepared to discuss. There is also a recruitment schedule, which will be an important part of our meeting since we'll need to discuss food possibilities for the actives. Mary Phoenix will be there to answer questions and give us additional information. Thanks, Mary! There is a copy of the bylaws that we will vote on-even though we just recently voted on them we'll vote on them again since this is the beginning of a new fiscal year. And there is an alum mum profile sheet if you are interested in this. Alum Mum was brought up during our Mad Hatter Tea Party meeting and I think it's a great way for us to get to know new members of our sorority, as well as tell them about "our day" and support them in their first year as a new AOII! I don't see this as a Big Sis/Lil Sis type role where we buy them all kinds of stuff-they will have one of those. I see this as more of a support role, a guide into the "greater" AOII seen through an alum's eyes...the long term family and AOII for a Lifetime. I'd like to try to match you up with someone with similar interests. I think it would be nice for them to have someone to encourage them and answer questions for them that maybe an active can't...or at least give them a different perspective. Kind of like a mentor. What do you guys think? If you're interested in just having someone to interact with, maybe send a note of encouragement to or whatever then please fill out the profile and bring it with you to the meeting. I'd like to have a dessert party/taco bar or something as we discussed in May to introduce ourselves to the new members and let them know who their alum mum is. This will all be discussed at our meeting, but I want you to think about it and have your sheet filled out before the meeting so we can try to get through the agenda more efficiently. There is a lot of information to cover! (Please note that I do NOT expect you to spend a lot of money on being an alum mum. If you want to take your new member to lunch or have her over for dinner or pass down something to her that's fine, but I certainly don't want any girl to feel that someone else's alum mum is giving their girl more than her alum mum is. That's not what this is about...it's about being a mentor, an encourager, and trying to enhance their overall AOII new member experience. Also, depending on quota and depending on alum mum interest some of us may have more than 1 girl or may need to share.)
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ATTEND THIS MEETING! WE NEED YOU THERE!! AND PLEASE INVITE OTHER SISTERS WHO WE ARE NOT IN CONTACT WITH YET!!
I look forward to seeing you soon!!! I miss your beautiful faces!!!

Upcoming Meeting
Hey ladies! I know you've received a lot of messages from me lately so sorry if I'm bombarding you with information. I appreciate your interest and feedback! Keep it coming! Please continue to fill out the online survey if you have not already done so. We will be gearing up in May and data gathered from the survey will be discussed. Again, if you left comments, I am not able to see who left them so message me if you have specific comments or questions you'd like addressed...and keep in mind we do not have any control over collegiate programming.
Also, I will be sending out evites (starting tomorrow) for our first meeting and future events. If you are in the Bowling Green area and are interested in becoming a member of the Bowling Green Alumnae Chapter, please send your name and e-mail address to bgaoiialum@gmail.com so we can add you to the list to receive these invitations.
Information will be posted on our facebook page and our bloghttp://bgaoiialum.blogspot.com but actual invitations will be sent via e-mail.
Thanks so much and I look forward to seeing you soon!
