WKU GREEK WEEK

A message from AX:
I'm sure you all remember how big of a deal Greek Week was in your active years and this year we have high hopes of winning!!! This year things are going to be a little different, our philanthropy day is on Saturday April 16th and we are doing a silent auction during a tailgate before the yearly Football Red/White scrimmage. Each sorority and fraternity is asked to enter a basket that will be auctioned off during the day on that Saturday. To enter the auction you have to buy a $10.00 ticket, with that ticket you will get a choice of hot dog/hamburger, coke, and chips. AOII's basket that we are entering is going to be themed "Kentucky Proud", in our basket we will have a signed UK basketball by the current basketball team, a signed WKU football from Coach Taggert, Montgomery Gentry signed CD and shirt, and some other fun things!! If you all are interested in buying tickets let me know! We have to sell the tickets by Feb. 28th, anyone can buy a ticket so let EVERYONE know because whatever organization sells the most tickets gets extra points! :)) And the ticket sell money is going toward Hotel Inc. in Bowling Green. Make all checks out to “IFC”.
Also, blood drive is another big deal for us this year! Even though philanthropy day is worth more points than blood drive, we still want to win both and plus this helps to save lives!!! We want you all to give, if you can!!! Our goal is to get 520 people to give for AOII and right now we are at 100, so we need AAC's help! Ask everyone you know of to give, family, friends, strangers on the street, coworkers, you get the picture!! All we need is their name, birthday and email and we will do the rest!!
Another problem we have is concerning Tug. We need a place to practice. We aren’t picky. If you have a large back yard that you do not care for us to dig holes in or even a field, really anything would be great!! Our practices are Wednesday’s at 9:00 pm. If you know of anyone or anywhere please let us know!!
Again, we want to thank you for all of your support and help while preparing for Greek Week 2011! The morale of the chapter is very high right now and Emily and I are working very hard to keep that up! If you all have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please feel free to let Emily or myself know!! Also you can email me blood donor’s info at courtneybjones12@gmail.com and let me know if you would like to purchase Philanthropy Day tickets!

Go Red for Women's Day

As many of you know, tomorrow is ‘Go Red for Women’s Day’ with the American Heart Association. I wanted to pass along a message I just received from Omega Omicron’s (Lambuth University) chapter president, Kortney Toney.
Tomorrow, Omega Omicron and Lambuth University will be “Going RED for Morgan,” a chapter sister who passed away in 2009 from complications during heart surgery. Morgan was a Biology major at Lambuth, as well as AOII Chapter President and Vice President of the Student Government Association. She was also a spokesperson for the American Heart Association.

This is what Kortney wrote: “We want to honor her and let her know that she is still in our hearts. We would love to get as many AOIIs to join in with us. We know she would be smiling tomorrow. J” You can read more here: http://www.lambuth.edu/the-news/677-lambuth-university-goes-qredq-for-beloved-student
To honor Kortney & Morgan, it would be wonderful if you all could spread the message to your chapter members about tomorrow, this remarkable story, and courageous woman. I know the women of Omega Omicron and the network would appreciate it more than words could say.
